This is an early version of this iconic piece of furniture which appears in Ercol’s 1959 catalogue. The door style and handles are slightly different to later models, which can be seen in the catalogue dating from 1965.
Condition: We have cleaned and sympathetically restored this, which means some very minor marks and signs of age still remain. There is a small chip to one of the feet. There was some damage to the front edge of the cupboard top, so our restorer has trimmed off the affected area and then turned the top around so that the damaged area is now to the back rather than the front. You can still see some faint indentations but we didn’t want to remove any more timber than was absolutely necessary. Overall in good condition throughout.
