A country made bench with a top made from a thick elm plank taken from the outside of the tree, with the curve of the tree trunk showing on the under side. The top bears marks and patina from years of use, and there are also some holes at one end (I’m not sure what these would have been for). The bench is of solid construction and has no wobbles. The top is not level but this is the nature of the piece. The top has signs of old woodworm infestation (please see the photos) - this is not active but we have treated it to be on the safe side. We have lightly cleaned the top - it could be cleaned further if desired to lighten the colour a little, but we like it as it is.

The dimensions are:

Length - 108cm

Width of top - 35cm max.

Width across legs - 50cm

Height - 64cm max.
