A 19th century Hepplewhite inspired sofa with scrolled mahogany armrests and turned forelegs. The sofa has a low back and an elegant shape, and its compact depth means it would work well in a hallway or other smaller space, or even as seating next to a dining table. It is upholstered in an attractive striped fabric combining shades of teal, terracotta and grey, but on the seat the fabric is worn and discoloured so it may benefit from reupholstery…

Condition: As mentioned above, the fabric on the seat is worn in places and is discoloured. We have had it professionally cleaned which removed some of the more obvious stains, but it still looks patchy - whether another clean would improve it further I don’t know. The fabric on the rest of the sofa is in pretty good condition other than a few signs of wear, mainly on the arms. There is a slightly loose joint on the left armrest as you look at it (this can be seen in the photos), and the wooden areas have various minor scuffs and marks. The sofa feels solid and is comfortable to sit on. I really like the fabric so have decided to sell it as it is - a throw over the seat would instantly hide the affected area and the rest of it is lovely - but it could of course be reupholstered and we can arrange this for you if required.
