Antique Watercolour Lake Scene Painting

£74.00

A beautifully painted 19th century watercolour landscape showing a lake with several small islands, hills in the background and a heron on the shoreline. The painting is indistinctly titled and signed - I think it might say Rydal (Lake District) followed by an illegible date, and then signed below, but other than that it starts with a K the signature is difficult to make out…

A very well executed watercolour with great use of light and colour.

Condition: The painting itself appears to be in very good condition, though we have not removed it from the frame to examine it fully. The frame and mount while perfectly acceptable and not unattractive are a little tired - the frame has a couple of chips and the mount has discoloured a little. There are also some marks on the inside of the glass which I have tried to show in the photos.

Dimensions:

Including the frame, 66cm wide, 51.7cm tall and 2cm deep. The image size is approximately 49cm wide by 34cm tall.
