Lewis Mortimer was one of three early twentieth century artists whose watercolour scenes were used in the publication ‘Picturesque Cornwall’ by Reginald Hammond - the other artists were George Nicholls and H J Sylvester Stannard.

It is known that Mortimer spent time in Polperro in the 1920’s, so this painting most likely dates from that period.

Condition: There are a couple of very tiny scuffs to the frame, and a small slightly wrinkled area on the mount. The painting itself is in very good condition.
