This chest of drawers is beautiful - fairly plain and simple but with just enough detail from the subtle line inlay on the drawers and the cross-banding on the top to lift it above the ordinary. The drawers are oak lined and have their original handles and escutcheons.
Condition: The chest has some wear around the drawers and to the bracket feet. There are areas of the line inlay that have been repaired over the years, and a couple of small losses. There is a small area of damage to the bottom drawer front. The top has various marks in accordance with age and use. The right hand backboard has a gap where it meets the side of the chest. I have tried to show all the above in the photos. This is a good solid piece of furniture, very nicely made, with all four drawers running smoothly.
