Charles McNeil Caldwell was post-impressionist Irish artist, who was also a Presbyterian minister in Galway from the late 1940’s until 1978. He died in 1983.
I absolutely love this painting and it’s definitely one I’d be tempted to keep if I had any space left at home to put it! The colours and use of light are fantastic, and it’s really well painted. Just lovely.
Condition: The painting itself appears to be in very good condition. The frame has a few areas where the plasterwork has been damaged and touched up, and a few small chips - please see the photos.
