Condition: Overall this is in very good condition with a few minor repairs and signs of wear, in accordance with age and use, as follows: there is some damage to the edging running around the potboard shelf, including a couple of pieces that have been broken and reattached. There is wear to the feet. There is an area of loss to the potboard shelf at the rear on the left hand side, and there are some splits in the timber in the same area. There is an expansion crack in the side of the base on the left hand side. I don’t think the handles are original as there appear to be marks from previous handles just visible around the edges, but they have certainly been on the piece for some time. The top section doesn’t sit quite as far forward on the right hand side as it does on the left - there are metal brackets that hold it in place on the back and the right hand bracket has been shaped to accommodate this. The wood is a lovely rich colour and the drawers run smoothly. The top separates from the base for transportation.
Dimensions:
Width (maximum across cornice) - 171cm
Depth - 44cm
Height - 189cm (the base section is 81cm tall)
