I have painted this with Annie Sloan chalk paint in ‘Graphite’, ‘Old White’ and a small amount of ‘Paprika Red’. It is finished in a coat of clear wax followed by a coat of dark wax to give an aged appearance and to enrich the colour of the paint, which is dark grey but changes to almost black with the addition of dark wax.
Condition: The chair frame is solid but there are few knocks and dents, including an area on the rear of the backrest support where some timber has been lost. The seat is fully useable but it isn’t the best of weaving jobs as it is a little loose and irregular in shape. The paint finish is newly applied and has been given an aged appearance.
