Vintage Stoneware Jug, Marked W.T.L. & S. 1931

A heavy stoneware jug with a banded geometric pattern, stamped to the base W.T.L. & S. 1931. W. T. Lamb & Sons were a London based wine/spirit merchant who operated during the 19th and 20th centuries, and commissioned various English potteries such as Royal Doulton, Denby and Poole to produce items for them. I don’t know who made this jug, but it’s a lovely thing with a surprisingly contemporary style, which puts me in mind of some of the West German pottery produced much later in the 20th century…

Condition: There is a small chip on the handle and a hairline crack from the rim, which is more visible from the inside of the jug - please see the photos.
